Sherbourne School for Girls – Oxley Sports Centre

In a recent hockey lighting project for Dorset independent boarding school, Sherborne School for Girls. JHP Electrical completed an upgrade to improve the lighting of their hockey pitch located in Oxley Sports Centre.

Project overview

By installing 20 new LED fittings to their existing lighting columns, the upgrade has significantly enhanced functionality and visibility, ensuring that the specified England Hockey LUX levels are now achieved, a crucial step for the safety of players and spectators with any new sports lighting installation.

Achievements and services provided:

  • JHP installed 20 Midstream LED fittings to the Schools Hockey Pitch’s existing columns, adjusting and angling to meet the provided design.
  • In addition, a new IP rated switch was installed, relocating to a more suitable position to control the lights.
  • Electrical testing was carried out in accordance to BS 7671:2018 and a NICEIC digital minor works certificate was provided.
  • On completion of the install, JHP returned to Oxley Sports Centre to carry out a LUX Level Testing Report, which provides the sports centre with certification that the specified England Hockey’s requirements were now met.
  • This is a MUST for any new LED installation in sports.

Jonathan and his friendly team at JHP offer a highly professional service. Instructed to carry out an LED light upgrade on our sports pitch they were fantastic from the concept through to project completion. Using their drone to produce before and after footage was just one of the little touches that really sets them apart from the competition. Sherborne Girls School, Independent Boarding School
